Pumpkin Walk

We met a lot of our homeschool friends at the "North Logan Pumpkin Walk." held at Elk Ridge park. During the afternoon is much less busy. We all really enjoyed ourselves and, as you will see with the pictures, thought many of the  displays were very creative and fun. The kids also poised as many different Disney celebrates. After walking through the display area we went to the other side of the park to an amazing play ground and enjoyed more time with friends as children played and mothers sat and chatted. We are loving this prolonged summer, gentle fall.

Kokanee Salmon Run

There was a bunch of tall willows that created a type of forest on a portion of the hike we went on that the kids just loved playing in. Hailey and Evelyn took of there shoes and were running wild. During this time Evelyn discovered a snake as she almost stepped on it, that scared her and she thinks is started to chase her after that. Unfortunately Hailey re-injured a scratch on her foot. It gave us a chance to show compassion, help each other and practice our first aid skills. We were able to see lots of friends as we went with our homeschool group. We love getting together with so many like minded people. There were a lot of dead fish as they had already made it up the river as far as they could. It was also a little cold as the wind blew towards us right of off Porcupine reservoir. Another cool thing is that we spotted two bald eagles high up in the sky as we were driving in and again in a tree as we were hiking out.

Family fun at the pumpkin patch!

We watched 10 hours of conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. We are so blessed to have a prophet to lead and guild us in these turbulent days.
We pulled out lots of fun things for the kids to do so that we could make it through it all. Magnets, coloring, yummy food, KiwiCo boxes and plenty of outdoor activity in-between each session.
Going to the pumpkin patch was one of our outdoor activities that got lots of wiggles out. We stocked up on enough squash to hopefully last us all winter. We also harvested all of our own squash, tomatoes, peppers and other yummy produce.
It was so nice to be together and comfy all weekend long.
We have been busy trying to get to all of our subjects at least once each week.

Rock Hounding and Hiking part of Scrimson Trail

Discovery of a very awesome specimen a yellow caterpillar!

We went with our field trip group to a place up Logan canyon where you can rock hound and find small fossils. We all participated and tried our hand at discovery. Thankfully everyone in our large group was safe, there was only one injury that I helped with. A boy hurt his finger and was in need of a Band-Aid for a bloody finger. We were all taught for a short time about the things we might possible find and then we hiked to the rock field to look, socialize and share. We brought hammers and other tools to break open rocks with and brought a few rocks home. We are grateful for others passions and knowledge that help us to learn and grow.

Wade Family Camp

Camping with our entire extended Wade family is always a blast. Some of out activities included hiking, biking, playing games, 4 wheel riding, Frisbee golf, scavenger hunt, marshmallow tower contest, lots of yummy food, thunder showers, fishing, camp fire, story time and lots and lots of play time with cousins. Family is the best! These adventures teach our children how to cook outdoors, start fires, fire safely, clean up, finding water, keeping our earth clean, sharing space with other families that do things differently than ours, respect for their elders and much much more. We are so blessed to enjoy spending time with all of our siblings, parents and their children.
